Start with the surfaces you want cleaned
Walk around the property and write down the work: siding, driveway, front path, steps or patio. Mention a detached garage separately. Ask the company to put the agreed areas on the estimate so neither of you has to guess on the day.
For the house, ask about trim, porch ceilings and exterior gutter faces. For the driveway, point out any oil or rust marks and ask what results to expect. A stain treatment may need a separate assessment.
Ask how they will clean your particular surface
Local companies use different service names for different jobs. Jump 2 It ↗ describes house washing as soft washing and concrete cleaning as pressure washing. Ask the provider to explain the method it proposes for your siding, paint or paving.
Tell the cleaner about damaged areas, recent paint, sealers and any care instructions from the manufacturer. A broad service description does not establish that the same method suits every material. Roof cleaning needs its own assessment and is outside this comparison’s detailed scope.
Agree on preparation before the visit
- Ask whether the crew needs your outdoor water supply.
- Explain gate access, parking and anything that blocks the work area.
- Check who moves vehicles, planters and outdoor furniture.
- Ask how the crew will handle nearby plants and runoff.
- Confirm arrangements for pets, open windows and doors.
These are booking questions, not a standard checklist that every company follows. Get the instructions for your appointment from the provider.
A house wash is not a detailed window booking
If you also want the glass, screens and tracks cleaned, put that on the request. Ask whether the company includes any window work and how it would schedule the two jobs. Our Greensboro window cleaning guide compares those inclusions.
Questions you might have
Does a house wash include the driveway?
Do not assume so. Ask for the surfaces to be listed separately, then request a combined total if you want both jobs.
Can I book a small path or patio?
Ask about the minimum visit charge. A rate per square foot may not be the final price for a small job.
Can the company remove every stain?
Ask it to assess the marks you care about and explain the likely result. We have not established a guarantee covering every stain or surface.
What happens if the weather changes?
Ask about rescheduling, notice and any deposit before booking. We have not verified a shared weather policy across these companies.
Do all five companies have websites?
Yes. Each listed company has an official website advertising service in Greensboro. Inclusion reflects published service information, not an independent test of its work.
