Glass, screens and tracks are separate questions
Winline ↗ says its price includes screens, tracks and sills. APS ↗ publishes glass only packages with other work charged separately. Neither approach tells you which quote will be lower for your home.
Ask what “track cleaning” means too. A quick wipe and removing packed dirt are different amounts of work. Get the included tasks written down so you can compare the same job.
Show them the windows that are hard to reach
Send photos of upper floors, skylights, windows over extensions and anything blocked by shrubs or furniture. Tell the company about gates, parking and building access. It can then explain what it can reach and whether that changes the price.
For interior work, agree on access and ask what you should move away from the windows. For an exterior visit, confirm whether someone needs to be home and how the crew will reach the property.
Mention anything beyond ordinary dirt
If you want paint marks, adhesive, mineral spots or construction debris removed, say so before accepting the estimate. Ask whether the company will assess the glass first and quote that work separately. Do not assume every mark is covered by a routine wash.
Settle the small details before the day
- Agree on the number of windows and whether both sides are included.
- List screens, tracks, frames and any extra work on the quote.
- Ask about the visit minimum and cancellation terms.
- Check what happens if weather changes the appointment.
- Ask how to report a missed area or damage after the visit.
Need the rooms cleaned too? Our house cleaning comparison covers routine visits and deeper cleaning. A window booking does not automatically include the rest of the home.
Questions you might have
Does window cleaning include screens?
It depends on the company and package. Some include them and others charge separately. Ask whether the work is a wipe, a wash or removal and reinstallation.
How many panes count as one window?
Ask the company to count yours from photos or during the estimate. Divided panes, storm windows and large assemblies may be priced differently.
Can these companies clean upper floor windows?
Describe the height and access to the company. We have not verified that every provider can reach every window or accepts the same types of work.
Is regular window cleaning part of a house cleaning visit?
Do not assume it is. Alkemi advertises both services, but the window work still needs an agreed scope and price.
Do all six companies have websites?
Yes. Each company here has an official website describing window services in Greensboro. Their links are provided so you can check current details.
