List the surfaces, not just the rooms
A bathroom booking might mean the floor, shower walls, shower floor or all three. Name each surface when asking for a quote. Include a hallway, kitchen backsplash or countertop separately so you know what the price covers.
Send a few clear photos and approximate measurements if you have them. Point out missing grout, cracked tiles and previous repairs. Ask whether an inspection is needed before the company can give a firm price.
Tell the cleaner if you have natural stone
Marble and travertine need a different conversation from ordinary ceramic tile. If you do not know the material, say so. Ask the company to identify it and explain how it will choose a suitable method.
The Natural Stone Institute ↗ warns that acids can damage susceptible stone and distinguishes etching from staining. A dull mark may need a restoration assessment rather than another round of cleaning.
Make room for the work
Ask which furniture you should move and what the crew can handle. Do not assume the cleaner will shift a refrigerator, remove a shower screen or work behind a fixed appliance. Agree on access, parking and water arrangements before the visit.
If you want the carpets cleaned too, ask for separate prices and a combined total. A combined visit does not automatically include a discount.
Ask when you can use the room again
Before the crew leaves, get separate instructions for walking on the floor, replacing furniture, mopping and using the shower. Cleaning, sealing and repairs can have different waiting times. Ask for the product name and care instructions rather than relying on a general promise of fast drying.
Questions you might have
Does tile cleaning include grout sealing?
Not always. Oxi Fresh calls protectant optional, while other providers describe different packages. Ask for sealing to be shown clearly on your quote.
Can cleaning restore the original grout color?
Ask for a realistic assessment or test area. Some companies offer color restoration or color sealing, which is a separate choice from removing soil.
Can I book a small bathroom?
Ask about a minimum visit charge and whether shower walls count separately. A small floor area does not establish the final price.
Does a floor cleaner also repair showers?
Some companies here advertise repair and restoration. Others focus on cleaning. Confirm the specific job before booking.
Are all eight companies based in Greensboro?
No. Some serve Greensboro from elsewhere in the Triad. We distinguish service coverage from office location in the company notes.
