To compare regular cleaning plans, look at the first visit price, the price for later visits and how often the cleaner comes. Weekly visits add up to about 52 a year and visits every two weeks to 26. Every four weeks works out at 13, so it costs one more visit than a monthly plan at the same rate.
Work out your cleaning budget
Enter the prices a company has quoted you to estimate a yearly budget. The example below uses made up prices.
Formula: first visit + (visits − 1) × repeat price + visits × extras. Add any taxes or fees to your entered prices. This estimate does not adjust for skipped visits or the exact dates in your calendar.
What happens between regular visits?
Ask which jobs are done every visit and which are done less often. Find out whether you need a deep clean first and what happens to the price if you skip a visit or take a long break. A regular discount may depend on sticking to the schedule.
If having the same cleaner matters to you, ask how staffing works. Find out who covers absences and how a replacement will receive your instructions.
Can you cancel or change the schedule?
TCE’s FAQ ↗ says residential service does not require a contract, but also describes a fee for changes within 48 hours. Ask how to pause the service, how much notice a change needs and when payment is taken. Check how you will be told about price increases too.
Choose a schedule you can keep
Think about which jobs you want help with and what you will do yourself between visits. You could ask for prices for two different schedules using the same task list. If you’re unsure, ask about a single visit first and whether changing the frequency later would affect the rate.
