Where does the cleaning start and finish?
Ask the company to describe the job from the dryer connection to the outside outlet. Does the quote include the connecting hose? Will the technician check the outside cap? Is cleaning inside the appliance included or a separate service?
A short written checklist makes two quotes easier to compare. If the technician finds a damaged connection or another problem, ask for an explanation and a separate repair price before agreeing to more work.
Mention the awkward parts of the setup
A photo of the laundry space can be more useful than a long description. Show the space around the machine and tell the company about steps, locked areas or a stacked appliance. If you know where the vent leaves the house, include that too.
Ask who moves and reconnects the dryer and whether the crew can handle your particular setup. Get preparation instructions from the company before moving or disconnecting anything yourself.
Ask what you will learn from the visit
Before booking, ask whether the service includes airflow readings, photos or a written explanation of what was found. These are questions to ask, not a checklist we have verified for all three companies.
If your reason for calling is longer drying time, describe what has changed. Ask whether the company can assess the vent and explain when you might need an appliance repair technician. A cleaning appointment is not a promise to fix every dryer fault.
Renting or booking for someone else?
Speak with the property manager about access, permission and who pays before arranging work. For a condo or apartment, ask whether the vent is managed by the building. Do not assume a quote for one household covers a shared system.
Questions you might have
Is dryer vent cleaning the same as air duct cleaning?
Ask specifically for the dryer exhaust vent. A whole home air duct package does not establish that the dryer vent is included.
Can these companies handle a roof outlet?
Describe its position when requesting the quote. Confirm access and any additional charge before booking; we have not verified the same roof policy for every company.
Does the price include repairs?
Ask for the included work in writing. If parts or additional repairs are proposed, request a separate price and explanation.
How often should I arrange a visit?
Follow your dryer manufacturer’s care instructions and ask the technician for advice based on your installation and what they find. We do not assign one schedule to every home.
Are these ranked by quality?
No. The list is alphabetical and based on published service information. We have not tested the companies or independently verified their insurance.
